Chubbs found 260 miles away from home

Pets name: Chubbs

Area: Dorset

Chubbs's story:

Chubbs was taken from his home in Dorset back in 2011. Like most cats, Chubbs was regarded as being like a child to the keeper. Consequently, when he went missing the keepers were devastated. Even after 11 years, the keeper was unable to stop thinking about him. However, the keeper received a surprising email informing them that Chubbs had been found 260 miles away in Ashton. A lady who had seen Chubbs before had noticed he was in poor condition, so she decided to take him to the vet.

The microchip implanted in Chubbs allowed the vet to get in contact with the keeper so he could be returned. Despite the distances involved, the microchip made reunification an effortless process, allowing Chubbs to return to his family home. He is gradually getting better under the care of his keeper who was overjoyed to be reunited.

Keep your details up to date

Ensuring that your pet's details are up-to-date is crucial in increasing the chances of a successful reunion in case they go missing.

To facilitate this, we provide a
Petlog Premium package, available for a one-time fee of £19.95. With our Petlog Premium package, pet keepers can conveniently update their records as frequently as needed throughout their pet's lifetime. This works out to be less than £2 per year, a small price to pay for the peace of mind that comes with knowing that your pet is more likely to be safely returned home if it ever goes missing.

Microchipping will be a legal requirement for cats in England from 10 June 2024 and owners must register and keep contact details up to date on a microchipping database. If your cat is registered with Petlog, please check your details are up to date now.

If you haven’t created an online account with us since our March 2021 website upgrade, please do this before 10 June 2024.
