Jess reunited

Pets name: Jess

Area:
West Yorkshire

Jess's story:

The joy of Christmas Day was brought to a grinding halt as Jess's keepers realised that she was nowhere to be found the next day. She left the house as she normally would, but didn't return. The keepers understandably wanted their pet home as soon as possible so began to post flyers in the local area. For nine days there were no sightings of Jess, which was devastating news for the keepers. They checked every vet within a 10-mile radius of their home to see if she had been brought in. Unfortunately, she hadn't, and chances were she was still lost outside.

Luckily, on day nine, Jess managed to find her way back home to the relief of her keepers. She had a hoarse voice and appeared very underweight. The keepers think she must've got trapped in a neighbour's garage or house and eventually found a way out. After spending some time in the safety and warmth of her house, Jess is doing much better and is back to her usual self. The keepers stress how important microchips are and to follow the advice given by your microchipping company.

Keep your details up to date

Ensuring that your pet's details are up-to-date is crucial in increasing the chances of a successful reunion in case they go missing.

To facilitate this, we provide a
Petlog Premium package, available for a one-time fee of £19.95. With our Petlog Premium package, pet keepers can conveniently update their records as frequently as needed throughout their pet's lifetime. This works out to be less than £2 per year, a small price to pay for the peace of mind that comes with knowing that your pet is more likely to be safely returned home if it ever goes missing.

Microchipping will be a legal requirement for cats in England from 10 June 2024 and owners must register and keep contact details up to date on a microchipping database. If your cat is registered with Petlog, please check your details are up to date now.

If you haven’t created an online account with us since our March 2021 website upgrade, please do this before 10 June 2024.
